I friggen pay to buy the Tivo and I pay a monthly fee for the Tivo service (well I actually did a prepay plan, same thing), why should I have these product placements shoved in my face.

There's already ads on the main menu and record menus, and they have popups during tv commercials where I can hit 'Thumbs Up' to record the show in the commercial. And there's no way to turn the ads off.

As for me, the ads are unobtrusive and do not interfere with my day to day use.
