You don't get it. The gamecube launched as the leat expensive console out there. Later on dropping even lower. In the US it was $199.95 at launch And towards the last few years it dropped to $99 and it was still at the bottom.

What he is saying is that hype makes the sales. It has always been true for pretty much every generation. Hype and established history changes the dynamics. The problem with these systems, is that if you don't jump on the XBox 360 soon, it's going to be too late. It was released in late '05 -- almost three years in Nov. Ugh .... what is up with no having a $250 price point or hell even $200 -- seems a lot more reasonable.
