You are freely giving them information about your purchases by the simple fact that you make them.<br><br>3) And as an extension to 2), Apple is not disabling applications based on monitoring your usage of them. A handful, maybe 8 at the most, private, liberal arts colleges are. Kind of like colleges that "recommend" Apple - it'd be irresponsible at best, destructive at worst.<br><br>The rest of the world, especially the adult world, does not run on Apple. I can stream music and video to my laptop through an internet connection from my hard drive back home.  (live TV to if I felt like it too.) That's probably the issue I have as it must use a higher bitrate so EDGE won't cut it. Home broadband is always increasing. Having the patent and technology for when we get there would be great from Apples point of view.<br><br>Besides, there's always buffering and quality settings. O2's iPhone data limit isn't explicitly 200MB a month any more, but it's telling that they set it that low to begin with. Even at 1GB per month, that's only 16 hours of tunes. It is really going to be difficult if you see companies capping data connections at 1GB.<br><br>I can totally envision a world where you have tiered data pricing plans. A basic plan with a 1GB (designed for light web browsing), a 5GB plan (designed for streaming audio and some video), and an unlimited plan (designed for streaming videos and tethering). And with a system like this having an 8gig iphone is more than enough, 8gig is lots! if you have a huge cloud!
