my question is, where is nintendo in all this? the ds graphics suck and the unit feels cheap. even with these small updates im starting to believe sony when they say the psp still has a good 4 years. the ds on the other hand felt old the day it came out. i'd like to add that

1 i hate the ps3 and love the wii so im not hating on nintendo only.
2 i owned a ds for a couple years but none of the games last longer than a few hours.

The DS is selling. It is selling so well, it sold more units last month than PS3 and PSP combined (and I'm a PS3 fan.) That's why Nintendo isn't changing anything. They don't have to. The numbers speak for themselves:

There is nothing truly unhackable once the hardware is in "unfriendly" hands. That is largely irrelevant though. Don't get me wrong, I got a stiffy just looking at the differences between the two and the 3000 looks a LOT better.

It's just that I have all of my PSP games in protected storage and I won't ever go back to using the UMD. It takes too much energy and is not as easy to use as a hacked PSP with 8 gig memory sticks. So why would I spend another 300$ to buy the new model which takes away functionality? I probably won't

Ohh, and I was serious. I have about 300 PSP games downloaded off Bittorrent, but I actually OWN all of the titles that I played through and enjoyed.
