It is a lot cheaper and also easier to move, while giving a much larger screen. I recommend Dell for the screen, and either Dell or Apple for the laptop. The XPS line for Dell and the Macbook Pro line for Apple are where you will find the high specifications you are after. Built in battery, low space requirement. The 17" Macbook Pro is my only option. But this guy is looking to replace his PC not his Mac. SO me suggesting to switch to a Mac...am asking him to switch software too.
