He stated that it would be coming out in the coming weeks and would have a price of $299.

2) Are there really THAT many grown men (and women) that like the itty bitty keyboards on 8.9" netbooks? But removing the bracket keys? I have to do some annoying key combination to type "[","]","{", or "}"? Unacceptable for anyone who does any programming. And yes, on a netbook, I'd still want to, as would many other people.
