The Blackberry uses a mini-GPS form that is less accurate than the satellite based navigation.  Even though its convenient, my phone is just inaccurate enough to make me miss about half of my turns.  My Garmin GPS doesn't miss a beat. I have had one for a year. They are still working on perfecting the U.S. models, and have only been in the game for around 2 years. They are a top GPS company in Europe and have been since the beginning. So if you want all the features that a Garmin has, but at a 1/4 the price, give them a try. Our Garmin unit is the same way. The ABCDEF layout only uses 8 buttons in each row. The QWERTY layout needs 10 buttons on the top row, which would require making the buttons smaller. Most users will be pressing buttons with their finger. With a small screen like this, you really don't want to go much smaller with the buttons. It is a truly horrible experience. Bad enough that we returned our Navigon 5100 a week after buying it.
