It has to be ready for market use, testing and bug fixes (even so, its people, again, like you, who will be the first to bitch about the bugs)  <br><br>2.  Time of launch:  sending a phone out, such as this one, needs to hit during a buying season to snag as many sales as possible.  Its very possible in the agreement RIM has with Verizon that they have to sell X amount of units to keep the exclusive agreements. <br><br> 3.  Marketing, VZW wants the world to know what it has and why you should buy it. It doesn't have the iphone's multi touch but it claims to have a different touch screen than regular.  They call it a click screen which should better imitate a real keayboard.
