Anyone who has sense wouldn't buy the G1 after seeing this thing. Even if you don't use the video feature of your digital camera, you'd want to at least have the option. Why offer a glimpse of what is essentially a G1, but better? This doesn't really help Panasonic at all. Compact body + large sensor = the god camera

Enough already with the megapixels, and the pictures that come out looking more like paintings than photos on every recently released compact.

This Panasonic and the G1 are neat, but they're still at such a size that they're neither discreet nor compact.
