(Would it look right if they were different?)<br>4) You want to waste time pairing two devices. (And who gets to take over the other's display?)<br>5) You even want to do this in the first place.<br><br>Now... I want some company to produce a viable device that has a display that appears larger than the device itself; solve that one, and we get rid of UMPCs that are too large for the pocket and too small for the eyes. Not sure if I'd ever use the multi phone design for pictures, but for movies it would be cool.  Also the idea of charging by wireless syncing would be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery useful. You can't just say "3G WinMo phones", you have to specify the radio tech they are using.<br>And by the data from cnet, almost all of the UMTS/HSDPA 3G Windows mobile smartphones are INFERIOR to the iPhone 3G in battery life in both UMTS and GSM mode. I mean it seams everyone for example that has an iphone has a friend/family member that has one.  So if you were to use that techonogly there you can have the screen go the edge of the device and magnets to hold devices together (and transfer power).  You could then play games, watch movies etc together when traveling etc...<br><br>This very well could be useful, and no pulling out a laptop doesn't always work (as they tend to be bigger to carry around) and Windows Mobile, Andriod, and the iPhone seem to be poised to replace laptops in being able to carry a smart device around that is more portable for day to day usage.<br><br>And lastly, how many couples don't have the same phone? Very cool.  A<br><br>As for the flame wars, it's important to point out that Apple's strength lies is getting new technologies to market quickly, NOT in inventing them.  Mac fanboys forget this.  Companies like IBM, and industry standard committees help create these new technologies and the standards that go with them.  Apple can go to market first because interoperability is not an issue for them.  It's a very good, but  monolithic closed system, so they can issue updates after release.  They can afford to concentrate on the user experience while the rest of the industry is working out the details of the technology.<br><br>Of course, between Vista and WinMo, it's nigh impossible not to take a playful shot at Microsoft for these slow OSes and the high overhead.  I'm imagining a guy on a subway switching on his WinMo device and surfing the web.  Everyone else's wireless device start to flicker. It would be cool to play with for 5 minutes, but the screen idea isn't really that new. Can I get some?  I bet it's really great stuff.<br><br>But I love the idea, and I wish I'd thought of it.  How many times has a friend's phone died on them and you've been forced to lend them yours?  Wouldn't everyone be happier (especially the anal ones like myself who would rather NOT have other people touching my devices) if you could just string them a power cable and have them complete their call?<br><br>Of course, you risk looking like a jerk going, "I won't lend you my phone, but look!
