Also, black around the screen make the image seem more vibrant. 1) You'd have to shift your eyes between the huge screen (huge for nothing, apparently) and the trackpad.
2) Trackpad won't be wide enough to accommodate all icons within reasonable size.
3) Your finger could easily hit an icon while scrolling.
