I can't remember who owns them now but ever since the takeover they shifted to less quality parts (charged the same) and then froze development for a number of years.

The only thing that seemed to keep them on par with everyone else was the introduction of GOOD gamepads to the PC, and the utter stagnation of the peripheral controller sector.

I remember that there was a time that FF Joysticks were leading the way in development and we were right around the corner from getting non gimmicky FF (good pressure feedback)

Thankfully wheels kept FF moving ahead, but it is REAL hard to find a good set of joystick/throttle WITH FF without having to try mix and matching.

The signals from the Wiimote are pretty easy to process. (http://www.rateoholic.co.uk/ResultPages/get_and_display_review.php?reviewid=388) About the only tricky thing would be identifying scoreing for more then 2 players, IR's flashing in pre-devided sequences could do that though.

If companys actualy looked at what they could do with wiimotes other then putting plastic shells around them we might get some decent stuff.

The wiimote is easy enough to mod, its just that most people who have the technical expertise to do so are probably past the lazertag age.
