I have a hybrid tablet, and even with relatively good tablet interface that Vista provides, I still find that I like having the keyboard for most things...even just web browsing. I guess this thing could be useful, but probably more so for speciality applications, or some tablet-friendly custom OS.

jorvay

Comments on Fujitsu-Siemens quietly intros Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC

Finally a slate is available comparable to Modbook! Until the Modbook came with its WXGA screen, no slates had anything better than XGA (to my knowledge), which is too little for me. The last Stylistic slate was also stuck with old integrated graphics. This ST6012 has Intel's newer GMA 4500M HD, which, though integrated, is actually capable of real DirectX 9 gaming (sure, low quality, but it CAN play Team Fortress and Spore). I bet it will look better outdoors than a Modbook, but definitely not as good for media work without that great Wacom panel. Certify it with RoHS and EPEAT, and I'll seriously consider it.

SoloSalsa

Comments on Fujitsu-Siemens quietly intros Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC

i think its safe to say only bad products get released quietly

bob sakamano

Comments on Fujitsu-Siemens quietly intros Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC

yes... but... does it... nm, i wonder if it can load that creepy iphone boob application.

StalematE

Comments on Fujitsu-Siemens quietly intros Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC

I own a Stylistic 4110. It was great until about a week ago, when it complained of lack of disk space and asked for permission to compress old files to make room. "OK," I clicked. Since then, it can't boot, and complains that "chkdsk is missing." Microsoft makes Windows XP boot disks available on their website, but not for the tablet edition of their OS. As best I can tell, the thing is now a doorstop.

The blame probably rests with Microsoft here, rather than Fujitsu, but who knows?
