In a move to
pump up the impending theater debut of
Quantum of Solace, Sony is simultaneously opening up a new promotional game and introducing a few new pieces of limited edition gear. Obviously, we're a touch more concerned with the kit than the game, so we'll skip over those details and head right to the meat of it. The outfit will be offering up 100 limited run VAIO TT laptops that are emblazoned with a
007 logo on the palm rest and a matching leather protection case. Additionally, a Special Edition Bond bundle for the Reader Digital Book will feature an embossed cover with a 007 logo and coupon codes for free downloads of Ian Fleming's novels
Casino Royale and
Quantum of Solace. Lastly, we've got the 007 USB Micro Vault in 8GB and 16GB flavors, both of which come pre-loaded with the
Quantum of Solace trailer and other miscellaneous "bonus content." Wild guesses as to price / release dates are being accepted now.
Bond... James Bond...
the price: saving the world
:p
I can't wait till this movie is out
You know, I would buy this if by limited edition they didn't mean "add $1700.00 plus taxes to the regular edition"
I'd rather have one that sported a 2.4GHz Core 2.
I have the Sony Microvault click 4GB (The one you can click the USB out) and I really like it. I can't wait to see how they brand it, but I'm not wanting to get it until I see it cheep at Circuit City, Best Buy, or Radio Shack. I'm sure it will have a bloated price!

Bah! I checked it three times to see that it did not post! Ah, well. I guess everyone gets their turn to double post!

Quantum of Solace was a short story, not a novel, and anyone who downloads it expecting an action story will be so, so sad.
Actually, the title of the film is redundant. A condom does give you solace... by saving you from having kids.
A "quantum" you say ? Oh, my bad...
..now that engadget is a big multinational corporation and enjoying all that a big corp. has to offer, such as huge turnovers and massive profits. How about a competition, person who guesses close enough to actually win the Sony bundle as a prize from Engadget.
I suggest we use dollars as the currency, hmmm, my guess:
$6500

I like the 8GB for $29 idk if that is a typo or what, but I'm ordering!!
Um...actually, it wasn't even a short story, it was a line from a book that the producers--Barbara Broccoli et al.--admired. But, Ian Fleming did write it.
Obviously, the new book is a "novelized" version of the screenplay/movie.
I saw the 8gb at FRY's yesterday and it was going for $39.99.
