i don't know, I'm not tracking this segment of the notebook market, but it does seem a little overpriced. And the look did make me wonder (before I read the headline) if this was another fanboy rumor.

Toshiba is taking away the MBP market (the very small one) by selling a PC that looks as though it has better specifications for less price, when really they've cut out things that a normal consumer WOULDN'T look for, such as the dedicated graphics. You gotta think in terms of Toshiba not the customer.

It doesn't really bear any resemblance to the MBP pro at all. The hinges, size, keyboard, speakers, optical drive, etc, are all totally different. Those components are all almost exactly the same as the V2400 though.
