Due to be launched next Tuesday, the
PSP-3000 Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack has managed to slip into at least one Best Buy a few days early, where it was quickly snatched up by friendly tipster Aaron G. He sent us a few unboxing shots out of the kindness of his heart, and now he's undoubtedly too engrossed in
National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and that ultra-bright screen to pay us much heed. Oh Nicolas Cage, what a charmer you are.

Well how about that? Secret is the same in french AND english.
You learn something new everyday.
deyanimay @ Oct 11th 2008 12:25PM
Its funny how in english treasure is emphasized but in french national is.
Jon @ Oct 11th 2008 12:41PM
@ deyanimay
In French, the adjectives usually come after the noun (as opposed to English, where the adjective comes first). It's not that "National" is emphasized, it's just that they kept the same logo design.
"National Tresure" is "Tresor National" in French.
deyanimay @ Oct 11th 2008 1:37PM
Yeah i know i take french is school but im just saying that the design doesnt work out when translated.

"English not only borrows words from other languages, it mugs other languages in dark alleys and riffles through their pockets for loose grammar.”
Esat Dedezade @ Oct 11th 2008 12:20PM
I work in Buckingham Palace as the her majesty the Queen of England's personal advisor, this is why I know the following information:
At precisely 08:00 tommorow, Monday the 12th of October, a black car will pull up outside your residence, and a man will step out, with two armed guards.
This man has no name, no identity. All I know is that he carries a box. He walks up and knocks on your door. You open the door and he presents the box, an alluring black velevet, gold trimmed box and leaves without saying a single word.
You open the box with rembling hands. What you see shocks you to your very core.
The most glorious medal, you have ever seen in your life, glimmers with the most amazing glow that any mere mortal has ever layed eyes upon.
On it is engraved "For services thus rendered to the world, and all of mankind, for your tremendous accomplishment of 'First'. We, the people of the world salute you and are forever in your debt"
Speechless, you fall to your knees and weep, weep with joy, with the tremendous sense of accomplishment you have achieved.
The world, my good Sir, is your oyster.
And you are its pearl....
/descriptive sarcasm.
deyanimay @ Oct 11th 2008 12:23PM
That was awesome.
Christian Walters @ Oct 11th 2008 12:32PM
Very nice internal packaging I must say. This has to be one of the better PSP bundles, loads better than the HARDCORE BLUE MADDEN one! I AM A HUGE FOOTBALL FAN THAT LOVES PLAYING MADDEN.....ON AN AWESOMELY NOT MANLY AT ALL BLUE PSP!
ZaxCG2 @ Oct 13th 2008 10:00AM
What you didn't know was that there is beef jerky hiding in every Madden PSP's UMD slot. YOU LOOSE.
holycow @ Oct 11th 2008 12:33PM
Is it just me or is the thing oval-ish ?
Christian Walters @ Oct 11th 2008 12:39PM
I thought the same thing, but I believe that it is the angle of the image, because the overall dimensions are pretty much the same as the 2000 model.
lorddshadow @ Oct 11th 2008 4:22PM
yeah it looks like they curved the edges. looks kinda sleeker.
Information Central @ Oct 11th 2008 5:39PM
It looks fat and pathetically cheap. They went from the sleek profile and classy black finish to this garbage? I've seen better finishes on squirt guns.
TareX @ Oct 11th 2008 7:30PM
It is your inner sense trying to convince you there's a noticeable difference between the 2000 and 3000 model.
Denny @ Oct 11th 2008 12:38PM
It's the angle.
xblacholex @ Oct 11th 2008 12:41PM
Why do the buttons look like they are suppose to be backlit?
KarlW @ Oct 11th 2008 3:48PM
Oh, that would just rock. Hear that Sony? It must be done!
lorddshadow @ Oct 11th 2008 4:23PM
the battery life is short enough. they would need to have some really power efficient led's to backlight the buttons.
EmoChicksAreHot.....Seriously @ Oct 11th 2008 7:26PM
you have a valid point.
That would be a great added feature that they could sneak in.
htd @ Oct 11th 2008 12:43PM
I am more interested in the entertainment bundle, if not able to get the naked version.
lili59185711 @ Oct 11th 2008 1:04PM
很不错的玩意
webon @ Oct 11th 2008 1:19PM
Yo mama!

É ecelente quando tudos pensam é aprovado falar numa idioma à excepção do inglês.
/ironic sarcasm
ffreak @ Oct 11th 2008 3:30PM
I don't like that silver color. It does look a bit ovalish.
jordan @ Oct 11th 2008 1:09PM
no offense to anyone but whats the deal with people posting saying they are the first ones. someone want to explain? doesnt make sense in the pride the person has, in all posts is what im talking about not just this one
Christian Walters @ Oct 11th 2008 2:23PM
WELCOME TO ENGADGET!
Badger_badger_badger @ Oct 11th 2008 7:02PM
more like WELCOME TO INTERNET!
noyp @ Oct 11th 2008 9:56PM
It gives them a false sense of accomplishment. They take pride in refreshing their browser every 3 seconds
timmy @ Oct 13th 2008 9:02AM
You should see the "First" dance they do when they finish their dinner first at the dinner table. Some even put little First stickers on the refrigerator calendar for all the Firsts that they acheive through out the month. You should see the glee on their faces when they have their first first in the first day of the first week of the first month of the year, it's their version of a Hat Trick.
MyHeadisFed @ Oct 11th 2008 1:10PM
Hehe I think I'll stick with my fat psp... that way I don't have to pay 40 dollars for games worth 10. Not to mention homebrew...which is really why I was attracted to the PSP in the first place. Before I put a custom firmware on my psp it was just collecting dust on my shelf, but now I use it just about every day on bus rides or when I have a few extra minutes before a meeting and so on.
EI8HT @ Oct 11th 2008 1:25PM
DAX cracked the PSP 2000 within 3 days of it's release (fact)! i don't think this one will hold up too long before someone is running homebrew.
ishism @ Oct 11th 2008 1:56PM
I hope DAX cracks it but leaves ISO, CSO piracy ability out.
Christian Walters @ Oct 11th 2008 2:24PM
@ishism, um why? PSP games are not worth the money man! Download em instead, its the only thing that keeps the PSP alive anyways!
g-devil @ Oct 16th 2008 10:21PM
... umm, who tha eff cares about homebrew in the first place?
Seb @ Oct 11th 2008 1:18PM
That was perfect!
>:( screw you "first" commenters
Super-sic @ Oct 11th 2008 1:21PM
what is the hole next to the PSP logo and the ps button? Is it a Mic?
Super-sic @ Oct 11th 2008 1:25PM
correction: The hole between the PSP logo and the volume up button... Is it a mic?
EI8HT @ Oct 11th 2008 1:26PM
yes!
BigD145 @ Oct 11th 2008 1:35PM
Get rid of the crappy movie and drop the price accordingly.
wootman @ Oct 11th 2008 5:43PM
3$?
BigD145 @ Oct 11th 2008 6:45PM
Works for me. I'd almost pay to not have to touch that particular UMD.
Super-sic @ Oct 11th 2008 1:41PM
yes it is a mic!!! I read an engadget article! Cool now you don't have to use the crappy headphones for Skype or Socom!
Kspraydad @ Oct 11th 2008 1:48PM
I'm hoping for some Nintendoesque 'blow on your video game machine' type goodness.
scott @ Oct 11th 2008 1:56PM
Esat has achieved a new level of win.
+10 points.
j @ Oct 11th 2008 2:00PM
I thought it was a fake! It looks like cheap plastic and paint!
MaXGTS @ Oct 11th 2008 2:04PM
Sony PSP = ZZZzzz.... ZZZzzz... ZZZzzz...
Wake me up when something new happens...
Jon Nelson @ Oct 11th 2008 2:37PM
Nicholas Cage a charmer?
Clearly you haven't seen Next.
But if you MUST watch it, I suggest viewing with the Rifftrax commentary. That's the only possible way it's able to be watched.
michas_pi @ Oct 11th 2008 2:48PM
Esat, you are very eloquent in your writing.
Greg @ Oct 11th 2008 2:49PM
First!!! Oh wait... I mean 34th! POWN
Jon Nelson @ Oct 11th 2008 3:01PM
LAME!
Oh wait...
No, nevermind, still lame.
