Cause down there in Paris (again maybe not the same in the US or in Chine) people in the subway do NOT enjoy being projected on some stupid youtube video.
Secondly in most of the french house there is actually a screen of some sort on wich you can watch all sort of stuff you could watch on your phone : it's called a PC or a TV...
Thirdly if you were actually planning to use this as a professional (ahahah) devices for a Power point projection for instance let me ask you : is Power point included in your MACish interface ?

Do you realize the potential of this technology? The fact you can whip it out of your pocket any time or place and visualize practically anything for a person or a group of perople on a nice 30" screen, purely ad-hoc? When they ask for it? Yes, I'm totally aware you can do that with "tiny-projector-only" devices as well, but despite their size, you still might not have them on yourself all the time, especially if you often (have to) lug around a ton of other devices and gadgets. Your cellphone is always in your pocket. Dude i agree this pico projector looks like an amazing features for such a small and cheap device, and i agree too that this phone packs up alot of other cool features including BIG battery but honnestly I'm not 100% sure this pico projector is gonna work anywhere but in a totally dark room.

There is NO way this pico projector is powerfull enough to grant a good visual confort, in the daylight.
This is impossible.
a basic videoprojector uses 250W..

The phone has a 2x1800 mWh battery and the phone sucks this battery in 2 hours = 1800mW power..
Most of it is used by the pico projector, and some for the video decoding etc..
Let's say 1500 for the projector .. that's 1,5 watt dude.

1,5 watt to do the work of 250W..

This gives you a good idea of how weak this projector actually is.

Of course, brightness and contrast diminish if you move the device further away from the canvas/wall/any flat surface to create a screen suitably big for a group presentation and I certainly agree with you that visual comfort must be very limited then.
However, I think that even with low contrast and rather washed out colors, a decent picture might be produced when projecting a high contrast graphic such as a presentation slide with text and monochromatic graphics or a chart that uses sufficiently rich colors.

Also, please note, that even on the sunniest days, you'll always find a flat surface, be it horizontal, vertical or diagonal, that's in the shade, especially in urban areas. Also, I don't think it can be said this device only makes sense when used outdoors; even when you're in buildings, for example educational institutes, you may not always have (convenient) access to a device with video output. If you're guiding a group of people through a facility for instance, and a question is posed right in the middle that warrants visualization, this is an easy way to do it.
