Voodoo's Rahul Sood continues to tease new product, calls it "forward-thinking"
Oh Rahul, why must you tease us so? Over a month after you referenced that "some other thing," we're still left to wonder what exactly "that thing" is. In a recent video response (posted after the break) to a question surrounding the HP Blackbird 002 gaming PC, Voodoo's founder closes things out by informing viewers that a product "way ahead of its time" is sitting just behind him, but he confesses that he can't show it off just yet. Of course, he also threw in the "forward-thinking" buzzword and assured us that the industry would "absolutely embrace" it, but as of now, there's simply nothing there to wrap our retinas around besides that smile. The game's growing tired, Mr. Sood.

ah go forward-think yourself, and cut me a piece of cake.
I think this is called "how to generate hype 101"
Might be more credible if he just sent leaks to some, ahem, tech blog...
Am so tired of this wanna-be-hip douche bag. Sood off! :)
An affordable Voodoo PC would be pretty "forward thinking..."

SPOILER ALERT!! It will be a Reactor Clone, watch!

I'm a big Voodoo fan, I can't wait for the new hotness.
as in lap burning hotness???
watch it be a phone
for some reason i would like to see him punched in the face for this video
Probably some hoe he snatched up before making the vid.
It's a $1199 carbon-fiber Mini-Note. They made it so thin that they're going to be including a purportedly "knife-handle-like" accessory that fits in the Kensington lock slot.
Boo...You can only use revolutionary and forward-looking a couple times before people want to see a tangible product. Heck, they still haven't really released the Omen which was announced back in June/July. Give me a break, innovation is worthless if it isn't accessible to the masses.
I am not sure what is worse here. Mr Sood here teasing us about a new Voodoo when judging by the new Envy 133 and Omen will be a stunner or Mr Jobs not saying anything at all and getting rumors swirling anyways. I'm thinking it may be a 15" Envy thats a Macbook Pro competitor perhaps with the new Instant-On OS that was debuted on the Envy.
8.9" gaming laptop. You heard it here first, folks.
Also doubles as a stove.
Rahul Sood is a con artist. Voodoo PC may make pretty computers, but that's where the dazzle ends. The insides of their computers are barely more than generic and their customer support is laughable. Virtually any other computer manufacturer can build you a better performing computer for less $$$ than Voodoo. With other PC manufacturers (Lenovo, Apple, Alienware, etc..) you can be sure you won't find refurbished components in your new machines. You can also be sure with other PC manufacturers that the OS is tested on the hardware in advance. No such guarantees with Mr. Sood's sompany. With no guarantee your computer will work as advertised and a customer service department whose first response to anything is "Well that's not our fault", buying a Voodoo PC is an awful gamble.
Don't think I could have said it better myself. I've had more than my share of issues with a laptop I bought from them in their early days.
Well if it couldnt have come at a better time then its either because apple just brought out a new range of laptops, or because its going to be cheap as in the worlds going down the shitter economy wise...
From what I understand hp/voodoo have split there product range with Voodoo=Art/innovation (Omen, Envy) and VoodooDna=Gaming (Blackbird)
Its definitely a Blackbird Notebook!!! It has already been said on thenextbench forum by Voodoo staff there will be no new Voodoo products until 09 and with a new omen launching now it makes no sense for a new blackbird desktop so it only leaves a VoodooDna notebook as part of there gaming range.
Unless Im totally wrong and its a Voodoo phone.
I do agree the teasing is getting old!! But I still want one!
@R
I thought the big draw to voodoo was supposed to be either the carbon fiber envy, or (throughout most of their past) their paint jobs.
We must think forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!
Don't blame me. I voted for Kodos.
Now is a bad time to introduce anything premium, but I'm defo ready to jump on the Voodoo wagon if they update the Envy (Took long enough to ship, didn't it?!?) with Centrino2 and get better battery life - and maybe, offer an extended-runtime battery as well.
What I want is basically my Crapbook Air which isn't a Crapbook Air. And Voodoo seem to be the only other ones in the game with a truly nice looking machine. So pretty please?
I bought a new Envy, took 30 days to get it but I #*#ing love it! I can't wait to see what they come out with.
Sooo....what was he saying? "News at eleven" ??
I bought a new Envy, took 30 days to get it but I #*#ing love it! I would say it's pretty forward thinking, albeit expensive. I can't wait to see what they come out with.
They're computers cost a fortune and yet they can't afford a good camera?
It's not my day today -_^
*their :|
VoodooPC's service is ridiculous and Rahul should be ashamed to call himself forward thinking, unless he means it in the mold of your current Preznut.
What made HP waste so much $$$ in acquiring this douchebag's company ? Oh wait, this is the same company that hired Fiorina ... never mind !
I can haz Voodoo Envy 133 for a bit less, like $1750. Plz? Kthxbai :)
Voodoo Phone. Do it Rahul, I bet it would look smexy.
This dude likes dudes, who cares. Who does he think he is? EL JOBSO?!
Guys, rag on this if you want, but it will change a lot of your concepts of the VoodooDNA line. Be patient, watch the websites, be amazed.
Hooray for positive comments from 1-post users! It just feels so credible.
Well R, Khan, and tyler, I'm glad you have all proven your point about Rahul, you hate him and his products because hes managed to make something of himself, but unlike you he knows how to use a 3k-10k computer w/o managing to break it every week and then call tech support to complain cuz your shiz dont work. Grow up a little, every computer has a problem, and you wouldnt be buying voodoo if you didnt think it was sweet and cool, you made the choice, and as far as the reviews are concerned its a great unit, I love mine!...But then again, I know how to use it w/o breaking it. (p.s. at least voodoo tech support will stay on the line with your sorry arse and help you until 10:30 their time at night when they were closed at 7! Try getting that from Dell!)
