I had played around with one of these things for close to an hour and seriously, I could see myself just closing the their main touch center app and treating it like a normal computer. While the attempt to merge normal computer activities with touch screen was great, I don't think they nailed it quite down...YET. This being opened up might change that to whoever buys this thing and has gone back to mouse and keyboard and an occasional tap to close a window or something.

What do I know though, I only played with it for an hour.

Jake Lyon

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

I played around with one in store and found it really primitive and too early for development, no use buying one of these when you can get a great nontouch desktop for the price. HP's TouchSmart software is neat, and maybe some elements could go into Microsoft's version, but HP's version is just limited to their computers.

Quikboy

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

Ive already seen 3rd party apps out there: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks10Y7BVfRs

zMike

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

cool!

Patrick

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

dude...seriously

John H.

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

yes, seriously. i like these computers. this will help them

Patrick

Comments on HP opens TouchSmart to third-party developers

John: I actually though it was a perfectly fine comment.
