The last method I remember for installing custom firmware on a PSP involved an exploit in the Lumines UMD. So just as you would need to get an R4 card for the DS, you'd need a copy of Lumines for PSP. It won't STOP piracy, but it'll put 'em off, (At least a tiny bit..) and that's the main thing..<br>Meanwhile..  I might yet get my games working on it!! It just took a few days to adapt to the new firmware.
