Nokia users have been doing this since 2002, so big deal you tether in 2008 or figured out what a bluetooth headset is sometime in the last 2 years. It has to go through the Usb debugging mode to work so there is some possibility of Google locking it down after an update. That said, I doubt I'll bother setting it up on the G1. T-mobile was not against tethering (all of their other phones, including the 3g handsets do it), it was simply that Android was not built with tethering app as part of the OS.
