I hope this is not true.<br><br>By July 2009 Android will be in a lot of trouble is the G2 isn't out and running already. Its quirks get a lot of press, but the entire package as a whole completely blows anything from WinMo or Blackberry out of the water as an easy-to-use, powerful consumer device.  Calling it "weak" is just short-sighted. Usually Asia Pacific refers to South-East Asia outside of China - Singapore, Hong Kong (technically part of China, but the distribution network is different) Malaysia etc. People usually look at China independently since it is so large, has different living standards and uses a variety of different standards - Asia Pacific tends to use European 3G standards whereas China has it own. He really is an amusing little mascot.  I'm kind of bummed that he doesn't actually appear anywhere on the G1 outside of the OS splash screen. Looks good to me, regardless of politics! And the author is damn right it would be a huge deal to win the Shanghai market. The iPhone 3G does not have the right hardware to run on China's big 3G networks. The same applies for the HTC G1.<br><br>"HTC G1s are said to be selling like gangbusters"<br><br>Who said that? You? And who else? Nobody. They are now available on the grey market, that's all.
