Men, be careful with the lies your tell your wives. See, there's this thing called the Internet which is... uh, like a series of tubes connecting everybody. On The Internets you'll find services like Google and places to discuss just about anything imaginable, even the iPhone. So when you tell your wife that there's a bug in the iPhone that causes photos of your naughty bits to "sometimes automatically attach themselves to an e-mail address and appear in the sent folder, even though no e-mail was ever sent," well, it won't take long before she's on the Apple Discussion forums asking if this is true. Buddy, we hope you get what you deserve.

In Russia, iPhone sents you.
ybd @ Nov 18th 2008 7:44AM
In Soviet Russia you are actually funny
Ethan @ Nov 18th 2008 8:05AM
In Soviet Russia, a bad joke makes you! (and me)
High Ranks make you sterile @ Nov 18th 2008 9:11AM
In Russian, the lame joke you typed would have made "sents" grammatically.
USA! USA!
Ethan @ Nov 18th 2008 6:40AM
Best comment:
'I think your marriage has a glitch' - Handling the complex issue at hand with tact and decorum.
tijs @ Nov 18th 2008 3:24PM
"Well, if you must know ... it was a close-up shot of him pleasuring himself taken at the exact moment of maximum pleasure."
i say, wtf?!
Hung @ Nov 18th 2008 4:45PM
"why would someone take a raunchy picture of themselves with an iPhone without having the intention of sending it to someone?"
"Its a glitch, but only happens if the pic is sufficiently raunchy."
I like the part when people posted helpful comments, like those above (although the first one is pretty helpful).
Ike Turner @ Nov 18th 2008 6:40AM
Can with have a rating option for news posts too (like the comments)
so I can Low Rank this one?
WTF was that nonsense about?
Slow news day,?
Oh well..can't rate you down but can AD-Block you....
loocas @ Nov 18th 2008 6:49AM
Oh, no, you wouldn't!
...
OH MAN! You're so naughty! ;)
Graham @ Nov 18th 2008 8:21AM
Since when do you come to a *blog* to read *news*?
High Ranks make you sterile @ Nov 18th 2008 9:10AM
I got a chain e-mail saying that if I don't send this to 50 people in 10 minutes a monster is going to come kill me and harvest my body for Stem Cell Research....
That lie is just as qualified to be a story on here as the first lie... I demand "media" attention.
UnixSystemsEngineer @ Nov 18th 2008 1:55PM
Seriously? This is the funniest thing I've seen on engadget in days. Granted, it's not news, but it is funny.
loocas @ Nov 18th 2008 6:48AM
Yeah... just laugh as you like. You're not the one with your genitals all over the Internets...
evil_m0nkey @ Nov 18th 2008 6:54AM
that poor soul
Ryback @ Nov 18th 2008 6:55AM
Why didn't he just say the picture and e-mail was work-related. He could have told her it was a picture of a cow's udder squirting milk. The iPhone camera is so bad she probably would have fell for it.
BigD @ Nov 18th 2008 6:56AM
I love the T-Mobile iPhone...fight the power!
BigD @ Nov 18th 2008 7:03AM
Wait...you're probably in Europe....my bad.
7on @ Nov 18th 2008 9:25AM
Defintely Europe. USA T-mobile doesn't get the ... after it. That's because Germany's would show up as T-Mobile DT which puts it over.
Andrew @ Nov 18th 2008 11:26AM
That would probably be T-mobile DE, not DT. The TLD for Deutschland is also .de
Trent @ Nov 18th 2008 7:04AM
I am not sure what is worse...the man's pathetic lie or the woman's ignorance that she had to consult an Apple discussion board.
So how about them Greenjeans???
Thi mam(kris120890) @ Nov 18th 2008 7:09AM
The only thing that has a glitch now is her marriage.
SPOKE @ Nov 18th 2008 7:10AM
I dont see how this is a big deal. What did he gain or lost by telling her this. OK OK.. it PRETENDS to send the mail, but dosnt.. maybe hes just an idiot. ADMIT NOTHING... and don't pose for stupid photos!
absinthe party @ Nov 18th 2008 7:11AM

I know some girls who are so stupid that when their boyfriend tells them an excuse for evidence even MORE damning and obvious than this they actually believe it.
I'm going to give Susan credit for not being as dumb as many people.
Ryback @ Nov 18th 2008 7:54AM
Reminds me if Eddie Murphy in Raw.

A friend of mine had a fling with an English girl while on vacation. They had lots of fun with each other. He then sent a very detailed email back to his homeboys in Japan. Only he accidentally sent it to his girlfriend back home. So far so bad. I kind of thought he was doomed but later, I learned that he had told her he made all this stuff up in order to impress his friends; she believed him; they were still together. Pretty incredible.
MM @ Nov 18th 2008 7:26AM
This guy must imagine that the woman is a complete moron? Or maybe he is...
Ian @ Nov 18th 2008 10:07AM
The woman is a complete moron... she bought it enough to go online, subscribe to forums, and ask... pretty funny if you ask me
BratPAQ @ Nov 18th 2008 8:36AM
this should be on failblog.org, not here in engadget.
cb88 @ Nov 18th 2008 11:31AM
yes but it involved an iPhone so of course it would be on engadget....
csmitty @ Nov 18th 2008 8:44AM
Wow, whats he got his auto check to? I can hardly get it to check the inbox much less the sent folder.
BratPAQ @ Nov 18th 2008 8:48AM
Genius Bar? WTF?
Trancesetter @ Nov 18th 2008 8:50AM
No, by no means will the iPhone be able to send anything without your previous concent. Just look here:

Tohe @ Nov 18th 2008 9:09AM
So this is what it takes to be featured in Engadget? lol
If she is for real, she should go viral with his pic and send it to everyone he knows and not.

Yes, I can click the Read link too.
Andrew @ Nov 18th 2008 9:40AM
a simple "that link is the 'read' button" would suffice. but thanks for comin' out.
Neoprimal @ Nov 18th 2008 9:58AM
These apple people are so creative in their denial about stuff.
Ian @ Nov 18th 2008 10:07AM
I for one thought the "glitch" was a pretty funny and desperate bit of hokum. The fact that the wife had to go online to ask means they are both tards...
phail @ Nov 18th 2008 10:27AM
eh, not really. compared to the readers of this blog maybe, but i'm sure a few of my older family members would have bought it.
BJ is Gooder @ Nov 18th 2008 12:00PM
If she's 'tarded then hopefully she can be a pilot someday.
Jay @ Nov 18th 2008 10:25AM
Ha ha ha ha!
I do feel bad for the woman... but that is one of the most hilarious stories I've read on here in a while! Her husband must REALLY think she's an idiot.
What a great way to start my day. =P
EMoShunz @ Nov 18th 2008 10:30AM
i just have to post my bad joke, apologies in advance...
this is what happens when your iphone is not touched enough, it wants you to look at it's iballs
prnkmonkie @ Nov 18th 2008 10:59AM
People are this dumb? Really? Why can't I find a woman this naive?!
Caleb @ Nov 18th 2008 7:02PM
I've known people of both genders that are that dumb.
Dylan @ Nov 18th 2008 11:06AM
Wait, I thought the Inquirer was one of those bullshit tabloids you see at checkout caps with headlines like "Man Marries His iPhone, Expecting Twins". Engadget, don't mess with me like this.
