but i guess the most popular use is emulators , snes, megadrive c64 etc etc and... being able to run pirated games. i think thsts wat mst people are intrestd in really , even the ones that keep saying "backup" and " i should be able to try the game out first to see if i like it" and " sony is evil and so its ok to pirate games" etc.

So they got the green LED on while inserting a modified battery, big deal. There is still the issue of actually getting custom firmware to run on the thing. And from what I've seen so far, this won't make that any easier. If you ask me, Datel is up to its usual antics again, but this time decided to release a half assed product in hope that when a real hack comes, this battery will be so widely publicized that newbies will pay the $30 and pick it up. So far their strategy is working, unfortunately.
