Tiny Wiimote "projector" is not nearly as impressive as it sounds on paper

This image is not necessarily one we are thrilled about having projected upon our walls, but we are pretty fond of anything in miniature. This 2.25-inch Wiimote is actually a semi-ingenious mini-projector which projects an image (yes, only one) from Super Mario Kart when its button is pressed. When you order you'll get a random choice of one of the six possible images, each less exciting and more pointless than the next. They're available from ThinkGeek now for $6, which is maybe worth the roughly one minute of amusement you (or your cat) will get out of the thing.

Yes!! Goes with the cool sWaP watch.
that
i'd buy it if they have a batman logo, that way i'd summon him up everytime i need a lift.
pretty cool.
That explains so much...
arrgh, wrong comment, disregard.
Probably crap, I purchased one of those PEZ Wii-mote dispensers, the candy got jammed at the top, and when it did manage to find the way out, it really did not taste good at all...
Huh?
thanks for sharing... i guess
you are welcome!
Oh, hey! Hey, have I told you about my bunions? Oh, you're gonna love this story!...
So, I line up my cold cuts on the couch next to me, but as I'm stacking them up, they keep falling into my foot bath!...
hey ieye new york hates you.
That's ok, live in Canada now...
iEye what did those poor canadians ever do to you??? go live in cupertino where you belong
That explains so much...
crapgadget early vote +1
This would be fun to screw around in class with.
If you're 8
What if one were to say...replace the image.
Perhaps with one not so Mario-oriented.
Possibilities abound...
This comment is less exciting and more pointless than all those before it.
Wow, somebody's optimistic.
Really? This is the biggest piece of shit ever conceived. The next time the inventor of this product gets a thought, he should just stop.
I got like 5 of these for free at E for All last year. Well two of them were just lights but I wouldn't pay $6 for any of them.
been there done that, I bought a pen that did, only that the image was an hippo. got about for a dollar. or less cant remember.
$6?! Man, I bought one of these for like, $2 AUD down in Melbourne. And seriously, they're keychains with a god-damn light inside. Does the job for me when I get home from work at 3 AM.
Actually, that would be an image from Mario Kart Wii, the first Mario Kart game to use bikes.
I bought one of these in Japan, more than half a year ago. I got Bee Mario (from Galaxy) for about 300 yen.
It's great. I use it in clubs, projecting Bee Mario on the back of dumbasses.

One word: Why?
That was 3 words
It would be cool if they built a mini-projector like this for use in real games as a flash light. It would sense what direction the projector was pointing and change the image... so you could turn the lights down and stumble around fighting zombies armed only with your flash light in one hand and the gun in the other.
that, is possible the best idea for a zombie game EVER!!!!! go write to someone about it quick smart!
Why, Engadget, even bother posting a story about something you are not thrilled about and expect to get no more than one minute of satisfaction from?
There are sounds on paper now?
I was able to buy one for $3. Though I'd say that this could be only useful as a mini flashlight. Doom 3 anyone?
*Had this for more than 2 months now, and the amazement faded pretty damn fast.
My housemate brought one back from Japan - it came from one of those plastic bubble dispensers.
It has a picture of Boo-Mario and er... it's actually quite fun to have lying around.
okay i live in pakistan and we can get this shit in a cigg lighter for like 10 pakrupee..
which is like 8 cents ? these merchandizers are looting little kids ,i bet these mario guys gets like 1000% profit on this shit.
