The question being asked is asking for a good web-cam for this person's desktop pc. You've mentioned your laptop web-camera is good, which we don't doubt it is but how can you install a laptop web-camera into this person's desktop? Sort of being a technologically inclined and able to remove the built-in webcamera form your laptop and rig it up via a custom case mod into his desktop, your answer doesn't really apply to the question 'What's a good desktop web camera?'

Its like someone saying they want to buy a toy car for their six year old and you recommending them the Tesla Roadster as it goes from zero to 100mph in just 6 seconds. That's...great...but...he wants a toy-car.
