I use netflix to watch Blu-ray movies that I don't feel the need to buy and you won't catch me streaming Dark Night or Iron Man to my Tivo. Quality is great. The presentation isn't as pretty as on the 360 (I have that too) with the slideshow of movies, but it does the job. I also like that you can remove items from your queue on the Tivo.

One thing I noticed, the audio was like .5 seconds out of sync with the video with 2 movies I checked out, one being an HD stream.

Overall, quality was very stable and I'll be using this over my 360 (I don't like firing up the 360 just to watch a movie). I've been firing up my 360 just to watch a Movie since day one of having the Xbox 360. First with DVD and now with streaming Netflix also. Not like it takes very long. Hit my 1 button Play 360 on my Harmony 1000 Remote and go to the Netflix section in a few seconds. As I have a OLD Philips TIVO I can't get all this newer fancy stuff. It has a Lifetime Subscription on it though that's paid for it's self many times over and I can transfer it over to a new TIVO for free any time I want. It's that old because you can't normally do that. TIVO has tried in the past to get me to switch to newer hardware and transfer, but then I'm forever stuck on that new hardware. Waiting for a new HD Tivo with better Cable Card support.

I will say Netflix seems to be going places. They're getting their foot in the door with all these company's before anyone else. I'm all for it. The more people streaming from Netflix, the More popular it gets, the more content they can afford to put up for everyone. The better it gets for all. That also makes it harder for anyone else to compete with them.

With Apple, your locked into their hardware and still paying per movie, and with Netflix it's Unlimited, and your choice for hardware keeps incressing. The Unlimited is the future, not just movies, but Muisc! For example, want ot be stuck with itunes and paying 99 cents per song? Or use the ZUNE with a $15 a month subscription and have Unlimited Music, plus 10 free songs a month to keep even if you quit the service. All the new muisc and old music you want. What's the better deal?!?! MS ZUNE isn't the only device that does this.

JBDragon

Comments on Netflix HD streaming comes to TiVo

Not to mention that you get to deal with the Apple DRM bugs that prevent you from listening to your own music. Or when your hardware dies you get to re-buy the music again. Sounds like a great deal...

Chris

Comments on Netflix HD streaming comes to TiVo

Thank you Tivo Gods (and Goddesses)!
