I'll stick with my original plan for a low-power personal server build, that came out to $510 last I priced it out, with an easy $50 knocked off that if I don't want the LCD.

Intel D945GCLF2 mobo (Atom 330 - dual core FTW)
2 GiB DDR2 RAM
2x 500 GB SATA laptop drives in software RAID1 (lower power consumption)

This isn't bad, though. I wonder what the actual power consumption will be. HP is around 60W, which could be (and has been) bested quite resoundingly by other offerings.

Via is headed in the right direction, but this should be no more than $175....hardware progress forwards, price progress backwards, true to the business model....mo money, mo problems. I'll wait for one to pop up on ebay in a year or more till I even think about this thing again.
