4-port USB Revolving Hub is simply useful
It's actually pretty amazing what you can do with four extra USB ports. For instance, you can chill a Coke Zero for you and three buds. You can power four sets of warming gloves. You can cover the family in USB-heated blankets. Whatever you choose to do, you'll likely have a much easier time hooking things up if using the 4-port USB Revolving Hub. Two of the sockets remain flat, but two can rotate up to 90-degrees each to provide ultimate plug-n-play flexibility. Claims yours in black or white for $12.

now if only they made usb gizmos that use up more then one usb port so you can get some decent heating or cooling going on the mug warmers/can coolers
sam @ Dec 17th 2008 7:27AM
It appears to be an unpowered hub (judging by the way it only comes with the hub and a USB cable, not a power adapter), so you can probably still only chill one Coke or warm one set of gloves or other (relatively) high-power-drain activity... yes, I know those were intended as stupid examples anyway, and there are plenty of USB devices that don't need bus power (or not much) but.

Agreed, I noticed that too and I think it should be mentioned, people should be aware of such things before buying, and be aware that if the price is extremely low it might mean they saved by not including an adaptor which means the price is in fact not so low.
I guess it's ok for notebooks though, mind you it would be handy if an USB hub has at least a socket for external power, and they could conceivably make a battery-pack powered USB hub. it might have a market, for people that need to use USB devices that draw a lot of power in the field.

Before the invention of a USB hub, there is the power bar. You just need to bend over to reach it.
strider_mt2k @ Dec 17th 2008 9:02AM
You'd think an Engadget writer would be hip to the realities of USB hubs.
Go figure.
Slav @ Dec 17th 2008 10:35AM
Although it doesn't seem to come with a power adapter, the close up shots on the company site show a power plug on the side of the hub.

Whats with the gay flower crap?
matt @ Dec 17th 2008 7:42AM
What do you have against flowers? Flowers are pretty...
Tarnation @ Dec 17th 2008 7:51AM
I was think the same thing this would be better with no decoration.
@ matt flowers may be pretty but they will get you laughed out of most LAN parties if you bring that crap in there.
Magallanes @ Dec 17th 2008 8:04AM
black, grey, deep blue and military green are the most male (macho) colors.
So, a white flower in a black background is not gay at all, a pink flower in a yellow (or rainbow colored) surface is gay.
Oli D @ Dec 17th 2008 8:48AM
@tarnation, you've obviously never been to a Welsh LAN party
dan @ Dec 17th 2008 10:07AM
Laughed out of a lan party; could it get any worse?
Oli D @ Dec 17th 2008 10:37AM
laughed into one?
actually thats how most people get into that...
GingerFox @ Dec 17th 2008 7:29AM
handy if maybe you have a bulky dongle of some sort, yeah might buy one...
Gaucho @ Dec 17th 2008 9:36AM

Bill Su @ Dec 17th 2008 7:40AM
This gadget only cost me $5 in Taiwan...and no external power option for sure...
m-p{3} @ Dec 17th 2008 8:01AM
Could be useful for my clunky USB wifi adapter that I often gotta connect on my old laptop with two USB port beside eachother, blocking the second USB port..
Griff @ Dec 17th 2008 8:16AM
Four site redirects to get to a product page where I can actually buy it? The tubes are getting clogged.
Harry Wagstaff @ Dec 17th 2008 12:33PM
The internet could be inoperative within days. We can't let this crucial resource go unsheparded. I recommend you appoint a Secretary of the Internet. Someone to impose order on this mess.
Randolph Leoni @ Dec 17th 2008 8:47AM
Could have some possibilities.
Jimmyy @ Dec 17th 2008 1:17PM
Why isn't this in Crapgadget ???... this is hardly Front Page News imho
Bucky @ Dec 17th 2008 1:35PM
I'm disappointed. I was hoping for some sort of Merry-Go-Round type hub, so I could put my thumb drive shaped like funny characters atop, and send them for a ride.
KC @ Dec 17th 2008 3:06PM
Revolving? Hardly.
mooglemoogle @ Dec 17th 2008 3:51PM
3. 3 extra ports.
