Shure debuts colorful new $99 SE115 earphones

It's not exactly the first time Shure has dipped into sub-$100 territory with its earphones, but it looks like its new SE115 earphones could well attract a bit more attention than the company's other budget offerings, and not just because they're available in four snazzy colors. According to Shure, these sound-isolating phones make use of a new "breakthrough" dynamic driver that promises to deliver better sound than was previously possible in such a small form factor, with the usual Shure fit kit ensuring that the earphones fit just right. It seems that you'll have to wait a bit longer to actually judge 'em for yourselves, however, as they'll only be available at some unspecified point this spring.

These should be a great set of phones for introducing people to what QUALITY earphones sound like. It's a whole new world for some.

Besides, dual drivers are pretty darn normal. I have a Klipsch that has a separate tweeter and woofer and it was released a year ago. Stop talking like Apple invented IEMs with multi-drivers.

they really need to get a set of these out for around $29.
i've got a set of the upper model's and i have to say, even on volume level "1", they are the best sounding earphones i have ever had. very much worth the price.
although getting used to wearing them the right way might take some time.

I have Shuare E2C. I dont think they are worth the price, even I only paid $40 on amazon.

The E2C's are excellent, and were a good value even when they were current model at around $100, but the rubber sleeves that came with it were terrible compared to what Shure includes with the newer SE series now. At least for me, who has a somewhat slippery ear. The foam sleeves for the E2C are excellent, though. I unfortunately lost my E2c's travelling so upgraded to the SE210's. They're nice, but I miss the old orange foam sleeves, so will probably order a bunch soon. Most people complain about the bass response on their IEB's and then I tell them to try the foam sleeves and they're amazed at how much different it is.

I have the SE210 model and I enjoy them a lot. The Sound isolation works really great and the sound quality is better than most of the other earphones I've used before. Of course, you can always pay 500$ to get the top Shure earphones and get something amazing but unless you have money to throw at the window the cheaper models will be just fine.

As for the Sennheiser > Shure, I've never got my hand on similar classes of earphones from both company to give them a spin. I've head Sennheiser earphones that were works than my SE210 from Shure but then again, I'm sure you can get some Sennheiser that sounds better than my SE210. Again, Shure have themself higher classes of earphones so it my just be a matter of taste.

If this is anything like the SE110, then this is nothing to be excited about. Shure's low ends are pretty awful for their price range. The mid-range (SE310) and high-ends (SE420) are worth taking a look, and the SE530 is still regarded as one of the best universal fit IEM.

That is so true... I treat my 530's like they're made of glass.

As for these earphones, they just look like the SE110 with a new coat of paint. I guess we'll have to wait and see how much of a difference this "'breakthrough' dynamic driver" actually makes, but if the current Shure low end offerrings are any indication, these will just be mediocre for their price.

V-modas are for bass freaks and they are poorly built.
About shufe vs sennheiser id go with the low senns and mid and top shures. Senns tend to be more bassy, even the most expensive models; the shures are way more balanced, and almost no iems (if any) can beat the SE530s.

I've tried these, they are pretty darn good for the $100 price tag. These are more "FUN" to listen to compared to the se110, the lows are more powerful, more punchy, but less accurate. The highs are just a tad behind the Se110, the mids are around the same, leaning slightly to the 115 side though.

To those people who think that the Se110 sound terrible, since your buying the 110. I'm guessing that's your first pair of higher end earphone, and because of that your not used to the accurate, precise, and balanced sound of the 110 or of any high end IEM. You've all been brainwashed in listening skullcandies, sony's, and what ever brand is out there. So all of you are thinking that it should be super punchy bass, loud, everything needs to sound complicate to sound good...
