This is because the Wii software does not support the SDHC format (the HC stands for 'high-capacity'; all SD cards over 2 gig are SDHC). I say 'software' specifically because the hardware is completely compatible with the SDHC standard. Some enterprising homebrewers have written software that can use the Wii's SD card slot to read from: http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=170430 . So, all Nintendo needs to do is update their system software to take advantage. It's a case of unfathomable stupidity that they haven't yet. http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/SD/SDHC_Card_Compatibility_Tests contains detailed lists of tests on various cards and links to source that could be incorporated by Nintendo to save them days of development time, and possibly much more in testing. They should be thanking the homebrew community for this, not trying to lock them out.

Hel

Comments on SanDisk releases 2GB Rock Band 2 SD card for all your downloadable content

If it was a SD card that came preloaded with the songs it might be worth buying it.

But really SanDisk?
