Nvidia states exactly which GPUs are being replaced with which. How is that not competing range? Unless you are referring to Kal's comment about the m98XX series GPUs.

I for one am anxious to see what manufacturers do with this new series of GPUs. Perhaps this is why Dell held out on the new Studio XPS 1640. The GT130M would be suitable for that notebook. And probably a better option than the current ATI offering.

I'm also curious to know if these use the same MXM standard as the GPUs they are replacing. Making it possible for manufacturers to quickly introduce notebook models running the latest graphics hardware.

xB Owner

Comments on NVIDIA announces new GeForce chipsets for laptops, starts selling GTX 295s for desktops

As long as these don't die like the older 9600M in the MBP, I am pretty pumped, should be great for when I get my laptop come back to school season, but hey maybe something better will be out by then even!

Little disappointing the 130M only gained 17% when the others gained a lot more, but I suppose the 9600M was already way out of their league.

reallynotnick

Comments on NVIDIA announces new GeForce chipsets for laptops, starts selling GTX 295s for desktops

how soon before they say these overheat to much too?

ops

Comments on NVIDIA announces new GeForce chipsets for laptops, starts selling GTX 295s for desktops

Now HP just needs to upgrade the video cards in their HDX series laptops to these.

Cassini
