The 4870x2's retail price is $100.00 less than the GTX295. Or about 20% less.  In those benchmarks it doesn't win, it usually doesn't lose by any more than 20%. Support comes from the manufacturers 90% of the time.  Companies like XFX, BFG, etc.  Nvidia in particular does not direct manufacture any of the cards.  As such, fan crappiness is depended on brand, not the chip manufacturer.  ATI over the last 2 years has had improved drivers, quicker bug release, improved customer service, greatly improve product performance. If that's the case, it is dirt cheap.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Elora HRanma]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Jan 16th 2009 1:56PM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 / 295 review roundup]]></title><link>http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/15/nvidia-geforce-gtx-285-295-review-roundup/</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/15/nvidia-geforce-gtx-285-295-review-roundup/</guid><description><![CDATA[As was clearly stated in every single review, the reference design wasn't deviated from, so it doesn't matter that NVIDIA doesn't supply cards directly to the retail sector.<br><br>As far as your comments about ATI, you've been living under the proverbial rock if you think any of other comments have validity:<br><br>    - Improved Drivers - Sure, their drivers are better than they used to be, but they're still far cry from NVIDIA stability and cleanliness, not to mention a lower footprint.<br>    - Quicker Bug Release - Please, go back and check driver revision releases from both companies again and see who remains more consistent on their releases<br>    - Improved Customer Service - This comment doesn't even make sense, so I'm not even sure why it was in your reply.<br>    - Greatly Improved Product Performance - This is probably the only thing I can agree with you on, and frankly, they needed to get their head out of their asses in order to even compete.  Like the Intel/AMD battle, the only way that we can benefit is that there's cyclic change on the performance leader, otherwise we're gouged drastically.  Ultimately, this point is moot.<br><br>If you're going to continue, provide some validity to your comments, rather than opinion, so that you're not the Laughed@Man, because frankly, you're mostly off base.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Ryan]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Jan 16th 2009 9:16PM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
