I have seen many comparisons between AMD and Intel and though official price was often matching, when looking into actual pricelists of system builders it is very hard to not notice that AMD platform has generally lower price.

At least where I live (this is Germany) when you try to buy cheapest box from shop (with some warranty/support/etc), you would be offered AMD based system. Intel's offering though officially rated to the same price point, yet AMD always manages to lower its prices.

It is sometimes very confusing. Last time I was building system (3 years ago), new AMD CPUs were released with official prices in $400-600 range. Yet, next day I was able to buy the $400 CPU for $320. Only God know how AMD makes up its prices...
