The PS3 chatpad is relatively well-designed, even though it's above the controller as opposed to below it (like the 360's chatpad). It still works great, however, and is not as much of a stretch for your hands as you would believe simply by looking at it.

Plus, the motion trackpad features of the chat pad are nice once you get them calibrated and working PROPERLY. I've seen too many people complain of the chatpad's crap sensitivity when they are using it as a trackpad, but when I ask them if they calibrated it as per the manual suggests, they always say no. I bought that thing a few months ago for like $10.

It was cheap, but the quality is very poor.

It's not comfortable to type, there's no way you can type blindly like on a normal keyboard or on the new PS3 Keypad.

Erasing/Backspace will take 2 presses.

Either buy the official PS3 keypad, or buy a wireless keyboard.
