Additionally, can this laptop have more than 1 GB of RAM? The other DELL product, the Mini 12, can't be upgraded you see making it useless for Vista (and XP after a while).

Since Tesco got the CPU wrong as well (Z520 vs Z530), maybe this is the entry model and that there would be a higher model with Z530, and 1280x720 screen?

I'm really excited for the Mini 10. So you pay £50 extra than the NC10, for something that looks worse (opinion), has a less punchy CPU, same hard drive, same RAM and some extra features like GPS (which is quite nice i admit).

For me it is The Best Netbook currently on the market, and the price is not much relevant to me (but IMO is _very_ cheap).
Sony Vaio P is a joke (no video output, ha? magnify glass for just reading my mail? slow procesor for such a price?), HP Mini 2140 was on my list until I saw this kid, with almost the same (if not better, can't judge from the pictures) keyboard, but much much better touchpad which is actually useful (I am a touchpad addict ;-).

And it offers a possibility of 2,5'' drive so I can easily exchange it to any REAL solid state drive (not this eee-PC SSD wannabes) to make my Windows Se7en fly even more. Not possible in Vaio P due to small factor and many other (like 90%) of Netbooks on the market. There is no reason to go for 7200rpm drive when you can pay few pounds more and I have _much_ faster SSD in a netbook.

The capacity of the drive is not that important for any sane person using netbooks, 30GB SSDs are more than enough. Plus you have memory card reader (another +30GB if you wish) or buy an external portable 500GB drive for few pounds more.

There isn't any real competition to this kid, Screen is finaly great (not too small, not too _unreadable_sony_P_Big), just adjust W7 fonts a little and plays nice even with your grandmother ;p, it does have 2,5'' drive, it does have memory card reader and video output (which is a must).

So I just spent half an hour on the phone with Tesco's running throught the specs they listed and how they are less than what we expect. According to them Engadget got it wrong and the processor speed is actually 1.33Ghz (i.e the Z520 which u can get on the Mini 12). But then again customer service are not exactly going to go to the warehouse and check inside the box so they said they will query it and in the mean time if I wanted to order one I can and return it if what it says on the box (i.e. unopened) is not what I was expecting.

Does anyone think its worth it? I love the design, was gonan get a mini 9 with WWAN and install leopard and upgrade SSD but this looks nicer and i wonder if OSX will recognise the multitouch trackpad? Too soon to think bout that for now.

However, the Hard Drive could be a 1.8" 160GB at 5400RPM as these do exist. expensiveish tho. I doubt they would fit a 2.5" in here and the mini 12 has a 1.8" ZIF.

I gotta wait till i get some cash around the 28th i guess and if no one has done so by then ill take the risk and see what Tesco really have in there, Unless ppl wanna invest in finding out on Saturday or Monday because when i tried to order it said they can deliver on Friday 23rd (Tomorrow)???

No GPS or TV tuner on the Dell advertised at Tescos. Anyone got the scoop?

Dell sales denied the existence of the Mini 10!! I couldn't get anyone to understand that it was being sold at Tescos but at a different spec to the one announced at CES.

Called Tescos and they were similarly clueless. WTF is going on?

Can SOMEONE tell me before I order it? I want the HD and the GPS!
