Why buy a propriety sharing device when there are fairly inexpensive and infinitely more useful devices like netbooks which support wireless transfer as well as the ability to plus in a usb flash drive for additional storage. There is also the much cheaper, albeit less wireless, method of just handing over the flash drive you stick in the side of the thing to somebody else and having them transfer the data and give you back the drive. 16GB flash drives are getting pretty cheap.

kal326

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

Is this a pot smoking device?

Hey Ya

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

Of course it is !!!!

Oliv

Oliv

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

do both people have to have one? i dont really get the need for it, someone suggest a need?

GingerFox

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

Your band wants to promote by giving out music.
At your next concert, before you perform, you stand on stage brandishing your Leyio, your adoring, Leyio toting fans put down their lighters and pick up their Leyio; the smell of burning fairies fills the air and BAM! You've just given everyone a copy of your latest CD without having to get email addresses, without burning CDs, without having to drive traffic to your MySpace page, without waiting for 50 people to pass your jump drive around and infect it with 5 versions of the Sasser.Worm.

It's like a download link in your pocket. It's cool.

But there's a giant ocean that must be crossed that divides fail from cool; and it's filled with the teeming masses that won't ever hear, adopt or embrace the Leyio. : (

Eric (other)

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

More devices need this USB port support.

BigD145

Comments on Leyio personal sharing device provides some UWB on the go

So let me explain.....

If you meet someone with a leyio you can transfer files/ web links/ movies (whatever you like) to each other just by sellecting the file and flicking your wrist! If your friends dont have a leyio....it has a usb port on the side, take their USB stick plug it in and take info to and from the stick , selecting what you want to share on the leyio screen!
The shuttle allows you transfer file onto it and give the shuttle to people so thay can plug it into ther PC and take the files off it.....but again you decide what you want to share and only give them those files - No more people taking your USB stick and snooping at what files you have.
UWB will start to appear on high end notebooks later this year so when they do you can start to send files from leyio to PC's or the other way round quickly......

STU
