For example, say your PSU dies and throws a spark, or even a small flame, in the process. Think about the frozen pizzas you bake in your oven. You put those on corrugated cardboard and set the oven to 350°F and it's fine, it takes a lot of heat for it to even smolder and a significant amount more to catch fire.
