Try reading that history again. B&O designs their own digital amplifiers (let's call them "chips"). Because of B&O's reputation producing these great little "chips", they have partnered with other chipmakers to improve products from those companies.

B&O didn't partner with Samsung to have them build B&O chips; Samsung partnered with B&O to be allowed to use B&O chips in their phones.

If you read more into the ICEpower site, they have a nice collection of the papers they've presented, which explain the technologies they've developed. It's those technologies that companies like Sanyo, Toshiba, and Samsung want to access when they partner with B&O.

Well, there's your problem. You're still thinking of B&O 10 years ago - and to be honest, many electronics companies went through a period of horrid quality in the late '80s to the late '90's. I'm a big Marantz fan, and I wouldn't judge them based on the BPC they made in that era.

Today, B&O is a very high quality supplier, not just for their own products, but to some of the best boutique audiophile makers. The B&O ICEpower digital amp is used by Acoustic Reality, Bel Canto, Jeff Rowland, Red Dragon Audio, Rotel, Cary Audio, and even Martin Logan.
