I do not know frankly if the fault is with AT&T or the iphone, but whichever it is, its a ripoff. You pay hefty monthly fees for a phone and you get a defective antenna ? I say get a Nokia. The only way to teach them a lesson is deprive them of your monthly 100$.
Paying for a defective phone, on a defective carrier and then purchasing a solution to rectify it does not seem to hit me as a sane man's idea.

shravan

Comments on iPhone Carrier Update hints at AT&T MicroCell coming soon

This is nothing to do with the phone itself - other carriers like Verizon are rolling out similar femtocells, with similar ideas that they can charge customers extra to get the service they're already paying for.

If anything, putting a femtocell in your home, eating your bandwidth, should entitle you to extra minutes/texts. Unfortunately for you and I, we got screwed in that 1900 Mhz downgrade to our internet and now this! I get zero coverage in my Philadelphia 8th story apartment building so now I have to buy a 3G AND the femtocell box!

Mike

Comments on iPhone Carrier Update hints at AT&T MicroCell coming soon

Am pretty sure you have nothing to worry about cause 90% of the people using the device will only use it for voice and not data, cause if you have broadband already my guess is that you will wanna use the Femtocell device just for voice and you will use WiFi for data instead of slow as* 3G.
