Keepin' it real fake, part CLXXX: It's a Zune! It's an iPod! It's a spoof!
Simply aping one device at a time has just become too easy for the cloning labs in the backwoods of China, as evidenced by the two-for-one produced here by QQ. The K805 does its best Zune and iPod impersonation, and amazingly, it does so at the same time. The all too familiar click wheel is there, yet so is the rectangular design first made famous by the cats in Redmond. For those looking for the worst of both worlds, you'll be interested in knowing that this here player features a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, support for a plethora of files, USB 2.0 connectivity and a microSD card slot for loading up your favorite EMF jams. We aren't clued in on a price, but do yourself a favor and pretend you never actually wanted to know.

I think the only thing worse than having your intellectual property ripped off - is having your intellectual property ripped off, but, improved with features consumers actually want:
FM radio
3.5mm Headphone jacks
copy/paste
USB charging
user-replaceable batteries
and the list goes on and on.
Agreed, and with mass storage capacity so no iTunes or Zune software garbage required to use it. I'd buy this over either a Zune or iPod any day.
Last time I checked, the iPod has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB charging.
Copy pasta!
@Elijah: and the Zune has all that plus the FM radio.
@Viakenny
I must have gotten a defective Zune, I don't have copy/paste and I can't replace my battery.
@insky: Defective reading, actually; notice the "@Elijah" in his post.
What use does a pmp have for copy-paste anyway.
On the go file management perhaps?
@Juan
No. Having your physical property* ripped off is worse.
*Appendages
and now I am preparing for the onslaught of stupid fanboys arguing
but perhaps not... could this be the rip off that unites the factions? joined in hatred?
Well, I say with this, you get the best of both worlds (kinda). A huge screen and the wheel. Now make it touchscreen and iTunes compatible and I WANT!
It'd have to be signifigantly upgraded to be what you want it to be, mind.
The screen is only 2.4 inches (0.1 of an inch smaller than an iPod classic), but I know what you mean.
I... Ha, I had a big rant about how fanboyism ruins a product, then I went back and re-read your comment. I think I'll save said rant for someone who actually deserves to be ranted at.
The unity of hatred also happens between 360 and PS3 owners who join forces to smite the Wii.
And then one 360 fanboy says: "Hey, look, the Wii comes in white. Does YOUR console come in white? No.
What if you are a perfectionist who lives in very white house?"
And that is how wars start.
Ha! iZune :D
it's a freak of nature!
That's what she said :D
You can't just go flinging "that's what she said"s willy nilly. There's a science to it.
Ohh someone stole my iZune pun... Rrrrrr
zPod.
Mind = blown.
It's obviously a ZunePod.
But where's the ZunePhone?
Where's urHumor?
Kneel before Zod
... Now lie on your backs, before ZOD! Now use your abdominal muscle to hold your legs up for a five second count before ZOD! One before ZOD! Two before ZOD!...
It's a trap!
That's what she said.
"..., yet so is the rectangular design first made famous by the cats in Redmond."
Whoa! Rectangular design? Those designers must be on fire.
In China, we call it ShanZhai, which is quite popular all around China~
You should email engadget and tell them to use the term "ShanZhai" when doing these stories, I googled it and found sum funny stuff
"..., yet so is the rectangular design first made famous by the cats in Redmond."
I think you mean those cats at Toshiba, Zunes are the shape of the Toshiba Gigabeats they were based on.
What's with these mp3 players and the "M" for the selection button? My friend got me an mp3 player when he went back to China, and it has the "M" on it too. Why don't they just use the play button for selection instead of the menu button.
Lol, and he got it for me cause he saw my Zune 30 and thought it was too bulky.
it amazes me how they remake all this stuff. I bet they could make their own version of a lot of stuff out and make it better too..
not surprising as one would think. all of our ipods, phones, zunes and what ever else is electronic is manufactured over there. they're the ones making these things not us.
Great EMF strikeout! Unbelievable!
lmfao engadget u guys are so mean!
I wouldn't say this is a fake as it does not look like an iPod or a Zune. Being rectangular and having a circular control is hardly ripping off either player.
iPune!
