Now, unpack your tower, (desktop) both of your monitors, (assuming you have two) your mouse and keyboard, and finally, find at least 3 available electrical sockets to plug into.

Now try this scenario. Unzip bag, pull out dual screened laptop. Find (if you need to) a single electronic socket. I'd say portability... proven.

For people that need portability, and are frustrated with having to set up an additional screen while out on the road, this is perfect. Minimizes wires, and a smaller workspace is needed. If needs be you could use this on your lap. too.
Not everyone is concerned if there laptop weighs more then 8lbs. Frankly, I get tired of it being a negative item in ever laptop review. Personally, I am looking for a laptop with a 17 plus inch screen, multiple hard drives (raid maybe), strong graphics power, 104 key keyboard, 4 memory slots, and heft. That way, if someone steals it, I can easily run them down. I understand, puny business workers who have trouble with a 24oz coffee cup, but maybe we could rephrase the weight issue in a form that isnt all negative?

Anyway, I still love this site, and check it several times a day.

Carey S. Yes, you do get more screen real estate, but the gap between the two screens right in the center of your viewing area would be really annoying. Most things that you look at on your screen are in the center of the screen, not on either side of it.

If they found a way to make the screens mostly seamless, it would actually be a really great product, much better than that Lenevo thing that came out.

Zach Hoskins
