I have a Dell Inspiron that stacks up against that pretty nicely.  Some of the bandwidths are now slightly dated. Its not the average 1280x800.  Its not the average Intel Integrated craptacular graphics.  Its HD's not the average 5400 rpm.  Its connection options are more than average USB only.  The CPU isnt the average mobile processor, its the ulta low powered P8x00. They still have some kinks to work out.  I work at a retail store that orders alot of these and ships them out of the country.  About 10% of the machines we downgrade have some sort of problem right out of the box that needs repair.  Pulled one out today that freezes during the downgrading process. I paid $110 for it. The built in wireless and sound is broken, but other than that, works great.
