As for shake-initiated functions, I can't think of anything more irritating. Then there's the added danger of someone setting the phone to vibrate when it is shaken. The resulting device will quake in an increasingly violent positive feedback loop until the phone, the user and possibly the entire universe is destroyed. I'm not willing to take that risk.

Must be a tiny accelerometer though. How will the phone know that it's close to my body? And how close is "close"? Is it 6 inches? How about 6 feet?
