I bought a powershot to use the CHDK hacked firmware add on, which adds: RAW, HDR bracketing, High speed photography, motion detection, scripts, and lots more. They shouldn't change the PowerShot's controls, they are perfect as is. I prefer more of a boxy looking camera. The first one pictured looks really tacky. Rather than another bump in megapixel, I'd rather see other features being improved/added like higher optical zoom or high-speed FPS video recording (like Casio). Canon needs to get off the MOV bandwagon fast. They needed off it years ago. Canon almost had me with this new 12X compact, especially the looks, but when I noticed no new codec support, I said no way. Priced at $229 and should be available in April.<br><br>My SD1000 just broke (lens won't close) so I was actually looking at the SD1100 but may wait out for this.
