I received a shipment notice email this morning that mine was shipping. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully the new design will mean 100% fewer accidental page turns (it's hard NOT to bump buttons that take up the entire side of a device).

Veraxus

Comments on Amazon's Kindle 2 listed as "in stock" -- for now, anyway

You want to give me your old one? :D

Lane

Comments on Amazon's Kindle 2 listed as "in stock" -- for now, anyway

And mine shipped out an hour ago, so I guess I'll have mine tomorrow.

ran

Comments on Amazon's Kindle 2 listed as "in stock" -- for now, anyway

Sorely tempted now. A friend ordered one, so I'll have a look at it and see if I want one myself. She's a doctor, and I'm not, so the price is a concern for one of us. . .

The funny thing is that I sold her on it. She'd never heard of it until I told her about it. That's Amazon's big problem with the Kindle; They don't do any advertising outside of their own website and tech/reading blogs. Nothing on TV. Nothing in magazines. Nothing in newspapers. You'd think they'd want non-Amazon customers to know about it so they could turn them into new Amazon customers!

ZeroCorpse

Comments on Amazon's Kindle 2 listed as "in stock" -- for now, anyway

FUlly AgrEE! Just look at digital cameras. You can get a perfectly acceptable 3 or 4 megapixel camera for freakishly cheap, probably half (or less) of what it was a year ago.
