Although technically Opera for the DS comes with a ~10MB RAM expansion in the GBA slot, and the DSi has 16MB total so the amount of RAM is similar, but I'm sure the bandwidth to the GBA slot is much worse than to the onboard RAM, which is probably why it's so much faster. It also probably has to do with the fact that the DS's wifi hardware sucks, even though it's 2Mbit cut down 802.11b, the maximum download speed I've seen from it is 20kbps, measured through homebrew web browsers. Right before the Wii is launched, they badmouth everyone else for having multi media features on their consoles and handhelds, saying thats not what gamers want.  They even removed the planned DVD dongle from the Wii.  Now, they go ahead and add all this, when the PSP has had it all from the start, and still outdoes the DSi in all of them.
