Apple's iPhone probably has too many remote apps for its own good, but Unify4Life is looking to provide RIM's BlackBerry Storm with just one -- the best one, in fact. The company's admittedly impressive AV Shadow software, which we happened to experience ourselves at CES, is reportedly coming soon to RIM's first ever touchscreen 'Berry. How soon? Try "later this week." If you're interested to know precisely what you're waiting for, give that play button above a push.
Do people even use remote applications on cell phones for everyday use? Or are they only put out there to amuse the owners and frustrate your friends, and bar owners occasionally?
I was wondering if they had an app for the Storm yet, I've had my eyes on this device for a few months now. I would only use it while eating dinner because the line of sight to my stereo receiver sucks, and I always have to stand up to control the volume.
I just don't know if I would use it enough to make it worth the $100... I'd like to play with a demo of the app first to get a better feel for the UI.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Expensive remote!!! lol
I'm curious: did you actually laugh out loud at your own comment, or was that just a figure of speech?
actually, it's pretty cheap, if you already own it.
it's called added functionality for little to no cost.

if you already own a cell phone that can do this, would you rather use it, or buy something like a harmony remote to unify everything?
the harmony's have all kinds of issues, and a single easy to hold and use remote whether it be from a phone or something else is always appreciated.
i didnt evevn know the storm has an IR xmitter!
It doesn't. It uses bluetooth and the receiver box converts the bluetooth to IR.
