In direct reference to my post yesterday again HTC "New Up And Coming Handset" and echoing posts above. Exclusivity to Vodafone being a likelihood "suck". I have direct experience of Vodafone the World's largest mobile Operator and all of it "sucked". Overpriced, poor customer service, and try to terminal a contract when you have the "right to"... well enough said. HTC seem to be solely after the dollar, dollar, money, money angle. Please HTC seriously consider small better providers than Vodafone... you will be grateful you did!

Question:
If Android is "Open" why can't anyone just install cupcake on their G1 today? Why can't anyone with a phone capable of handling it install Android easily on there phone this second as easy as they can install Firefox or open source Linux? 2. Because the companies the devices come from lock down the phone quite hard, and because of hardware differences I believe (but don't quote me on that)

3. isn't the point of open source code though like that anyone can make an android version? And assuming yes they can? From a consumer's perspective if they can make an android version but it's a pain in the ass to install on your phone is it really a big benefit to the consumer.
