I'm certain Apple is working on a Blue Ray drive of their own. As with other things, they take longer to release some stuff out to make sure it works as well as they want to. After all, Apple sits on Blue Ray's Board of Directors:

Regardless, I chose my computers based on the OS first. Everything else comes second.
For 16 years I chose Windows and built my own boxes.
